Laura is a Canadian-born writer, living and biking in her current home town, Wanaka.

A widely published writer, poet and columnist, Laura Williamson is the former editor of Spoke, a national New Zealand mountain bike magazine, and the author of The Bike and Beyond: Life on Two Wheels in Aotearoa New Zealand, out now as part of the BWB Text series from Bridget Williams Books. The Bike and Beyond explores Laura’s own history and relationship with bicycles, and looks at cycling culture in New Zealand. She is also the co-writer of The Blue Moments Project song and spoken word cycle, an exploration in music and words of what it is to be foreign.

Laura is the general manager of the Festival of Colour, an annual arts festival held in Wanaka, New Zealand.
