Wanaka Mountain Book 1: Words & Wine Sunday June 30
From the mountains in Wanaka, and now living by the sea in Ōtautahi, Annabel Wilson is a poet, playwright and teacher.
Her first poetry collection Aspiring Daybook won the Fiction category at the 2018 NZ Mountain Film & Book Festival, was long-listed for the Ockham Book Awards 2019 and was the seed material for the play, No Science To Goodbye.
Annabel’s poetry has been published in journals in New Zealand and overseas. Her plays have been performed in the Festival of Colour and at BATS and Te Pou theatres. She has been awarded the R A K Mason Fellowship at NZ Pacific Studio, the inaugural Australasian Association of Writers’ Programmes Emerging Writers’ Prize and a residency at the Robert Lord Writers’ Cottage. Annabel regularly performs her poetry at literary festivals, open mic events and as part of the Whisky Chasers collective.
She is currently working on a prose/poetry collection, tentatively called New Skin, and we are pleased to have her performing at this year’s festival.
