Lake Wanaka’s spectacular location at the foot of the Southern Alps with the wilderness of the Mt Aspiring National Park nearby makes it a magnet for outdoor lovers the world over. Visitors come to go boating, hiking, climbing, skiing or mountain biking, just to name just a few.

A lively town buzzing with a carefree spirit, Wanaka’s picture-perfect location and easy access to the outdoors makes it the ultimate base.

The lakeside town of Wanaka can provide you with an appealing mix of fine living, family fun and adventure. It has a high concentration of cafes, restaurants and interesting shops. It’s obvious that the Wanaka district is  obsessed with adventure.

Wanaka Venue Locations

The main Film & Book Festival venue is the Lake Wanaka Centre at 89 Ardmore Street , right on the lake front in Wanaka. It’s a modern building and we set up a 350 seat tiered theatre, huge six metre screen and big stereo sound.

Also in the centre is our Café / Bar serving cold beer, wine and juice. Hot freshly baked muffins and cookies, amongst other snacks.

Look for the Nepalese Prayer Flags.

Our other Wanaka venues include Ruby’s Cinema, Edgewater Hotel and the Wanaka Community Hub at 34 McDougall Street.
